From Page to Stage is an informal Theatre Translators Club founded in 2009 by Harry Anichkin. Readings of translators’ selection of plays which had not been produced were organised at various theatres in Sofia. The club is open to any professional translator who is interested in theatre and committed to a broader representation of international drama on stages across Bulgaria. In 2025 the Club restarted its activities in collaboration with the BulevArt Association.

The readings are addressed at all theatre-makers. They are open to manaing and artistic directors, dramaturgs, stage directors, actors, critics and journalists. The goal is to present new authors and works previously not shown on stage in Bulgaria. The selection is up to the translators themselves, usually bound by some overarching topic – whether nationality of the playwrights, genres, plot, or even character similarities, as well as box office success or critical acclaim.
